Facebook Inviting Applications from African Startups for the Facebook London Accelerator Programme.

The Facebook London-based accelerator is designed for startups from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the first time (EMEA). Applications open from the Wednesday, 18 September to Friday,18th October.

The application is open to startups that are creating impact at scale using augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and other Facebook technologies.

The programme will focus on startups that promote Facebook Connectivity and building solutions that bring faster, cheaper and better connectivity and internet services to people across Africa.

The programme will be a 12-week training that will begin in November. The selected startups will gain access to the knowledge and expertise of Facebook employees. Additionally, the startups will have practical workshops in product, engineering expertise and training, growth, impact, and bespoke mentorship.

The programme will be hosted inside Facebook’s London tech office, how cool is that! The programme will run in partnership with the Founders Forum Group’s digital consultancy agency and the Founders Intelligence.

Experts specialized in Product managers, data scientists, marketers, recruitment specialists and engineers from Facebook will offer the mentorship to the startups involved in the programme.

The selected startups will gain access to experts from across Facebook including those working in AR, blockchain and AI. We hope that through this programme we can help nurture a new cohort of businesses that make a positive impact on the world,” said Nicola Mendelsohn, vice president (VP) of EMEA at Facebook.
